We have taught components of this course across the United States. Our instructors will come to your facility to teach your students. BASIC HOSTAGE NEGOTIATION The Basic Hostage Negotiators course provides the knowledge and skills for the entry-level Law Enforcement crisis negotiator. TOPICS COVERED: This 40-hour course will cover: -- the philosophy and techniques of crisis negotiations -- the team concept of crisis negotiations along with the roles and responsibilities of the team members -- the various types of critical incidents and subject types in negotiations events -- the working arrangements and potential conflicts between the command, tactical and crisis negotiation teams -- and the concept and methods of continual threat assessment during crisis negotiation incidents. Crisis negotiation case studies, along with individual and group exercises, will be utilized throughout the week to enhance these teaching objectives. This class is POST Plan IV Certified and is reimbursable to the agency for Travel, Subsistance and Commuter Lunch - tuition is $674 per student. |
