Law Enforcement

All of our classes are certified for Law Enforcement in the State of California by the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training - POST. All classes are certified as either POST Plan III or POST Plan IV. We have taught these classes or sections of these classes to over 14,000 law enforcement and civilian students. These classes continue to be evaluated by the students as amongst the highest rated classes currently being offered by POST. Current Courses
Advanced Hostage Negotiations	This 2 1/2 day, 20 hour course is designed to provide continuing education, skills improvement and increasing proficiency for the experienced Crisis Negotiator by reviewing recent incidents and new approaches. Students are encouraged to bring case studies to share with the class. POST Plan IV.
Antiterrorism Concepts for the Patrol Officer	This course is a one-day seminar for street Patrol and Detective personnel. The purpose of this course is to give these officers specific Anti-Terrorism Concepts that will allow them to recognize and interdict these activities in order to prevent a terrorism incident before it is to occur.
Basic Hostage Negotiations	This five day course provides the knowledge and skills necessary for the entry-level Law Enforcement Crisis Negotiator. This course is 40 hours long and is written and taught by hostage negotiation professionals who have been responsible for hundreds of actual negotiations. POST Plan IV.
CPTED Advanced -Crime Prevention through Environmental Design / Advanced Course	This Advanced CPTED course is designed to instruct students on the more complex issues of environmental design as they relate to such topics as: terrorism, lighting technology, human behavior, traffic calming, schools, ordinance writing and the creation of security guidelines.
CPTED Basic - Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design / Basic Course	This 3 day / 24 Hour course is specifically designed for Crime Prevention Officers, Community Oriented Policing Officers or any other personnel charged with crime prevention duties. This course is designed to give the student the fundamental knowledge regarding the theory, history and basic concepts of Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design. Crime Prevention Design Strategies will be discussed for parks, schools, high-rise buildings and various kinds of residential developments.
Crisis Negotiations for Dispatchers	This 2-Day course is designed to enhance the skills of Dispatchers as the first point of contact in a crisis communication situation with a Barricaded, Suicidal or other Crisis Negotiation subject. POST Plan IV.
Crisis Negotiations for Incident Commanders	This 2-Day course is designed for the individual who will be assuming duties as the overall Incident Commander during a barricaded or hostagetaking event. The class will be a comprehensive overview of the Crisis Negotiations Team and their capabilities in one of these events, using case studies, firsthand accounts and discussions on potential liability issues. POST Plan IV.
Critical Incident Management in Corrections for Supervisors and Managers	This 3-Day, 24 Hour, STC Certified course is designed to prepare the Senior Corrections Officer, Supervisors and Managers in a corrections institution to be an effective leader at a Critical Incident. The course is designed to provide a comprehensive review of current tactics, with an emphasis on the use of a four-step Critical Incident Response Plan that will be developed in class. The student will be exposed to case studies and will participate in tabletop exercises that will allow them to apply the Critical Incident Response Plan to a wide variety of critical incidents in corrections institutions.
Critical Incident Response - Transit Systems	A 3-day/24-hour course designed to teach local law enforcement agencies and transit police officers how to respond to a critical incident in the local transit system. A complete orientation to the operation and equipment of a transit system will be given along with the four-step Critical Incident Response Plan tailored to transit systems. POST Plan IV.
Critical Incident Response for Field Probation Officers	A 1-day course designed to prepare the Field Probation Officer to be an effective leader at a Critical Incident. The course will provide a comprehensive review of current field tactics, with an emphasis on the use of a four-step Critical Incident Response Plan that will be developed in class.
Critical Incident Response for Supervisors and Managers	A course to prepare the Senior Officer / Field Supervisor / Manager to be an effective leader at a Critical Incident. The students will be exposed to case studies and will participate in tabletop exercises that will allow them to apply the Critical Incident Response Plan to show them how to take command and handle a wide variety of law enforcement critical incidents and in-progress crimes. POST Plan III.4 Days in CA / 3 Days in all other States
Critical Incident Response on the College Campus	A 3 day course designed to assist college campus law enforcement officers in their response to a critical incident. The course is designed to be brought to your campus and taught on your schedule. The college campus environment is unique and presents a list of problems not encountered by other public safety employees. This course is specifically designed for this special environment.
Disaster Preparation and Management for Law Enforcement Supervisors and Managers	A 4-Day course on how to Prepare for and Manage Disasters and other Emergency Law Enforcement Operations. Floods, Earthquake, Fires, Terrorism, Hazmat, Transportation Accidents and Major Criminal Incidents. POST Plan III.
Internal Affairs Basic Course	STC and POST Certified. A 3-day course designed for the entry-level Internal Affairs Investigator. The course contains a complete review of all legal and administrative requirements for internal affairs units along with instruction on investigative techniques.
Internal Affairs for Civilian Supervisors and Managers	A two and one-half day course for civilian supervisors are managers that can find themselves investigating or dealing with Internal Affairs issues or complaints of misconduct by employees. POST Plan IV.
Internal Affairs Update	A one day update course for the experienced Internal Affairs investigator. The course covers new amendments to law and procedures along with discussing current case studies and tactics. STC and POST Certified.
Officer Involved Shooting for Field Supervisors	A 2-day course designed to help the field supervisor get organized in a rapid and professional manner at the scene of an OIS incident. The psychological and legal aspects of an officer involved shooting will be discussed along with the impacts and effects of this incident on the media and the community. This course will also review model policies and procedures that concerned an OIS incident. POST Plan IV.
PAS - Operation and Calibration	An 8-hour course designed to certify the individual officer to Operate and Calibrate a specific type of Preliminary Alcohol Screening-PAS device (Intoximeters, Drager or Lifelock).
Street Narcotics for Patrol Officers	A 2-day course for street patrol officers, street detectives, school resource officers and officers assigned to community oriented policing units. A comprehensive overview of all major street drugs, there preparation, packaging and sales, report writing courtroom testimony and how to build an effective narcotics resume. POST Plan IV.
TERRORISM: First Response for Law Enforcement Supervisors and Managers	A course specifically oriented to first responding senior officers, supervisors and managers covering all of the components of a response to a significant terrorist event.
